Physiotherapy for Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis Physio

Tracey Daniels is a respiratory specialist physiotherapist and non-clinical lead for cystic fibrosis, and is currently undertaking a PhD.

In this videochat, Tracey describes the wide-ranging work of physiotherapists with people who have CF at all stages from diagnosis as an infant through to end of life care. As part of a multidisciplinary team, physiotherapists help to optimise people’s health and quality of life using airway clearance techniques and devices, exercise and rehabilitation, support for self-monitoring technologies, and medication prescription.

Tracey also speaks about how the sudden shift to embrace digital healthcare during the Covid crisis may have long-lasting positive effects for many people with CF.
